Job Opportunity: Senior Research Scientist in multiagent simulation
Roles and Responsibilities: A unique opportunity exists for a creative senior research scientist with expertise in agent based simulation to join a multidisciplinary "blue skies" research team developing highly innovative synthetic intelligence systems. Collaborating with other team members from various backgrounds including evolutionary computation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, artificial life and complex systems, you will help develop cutting edge complex adaptive systems with unparalleled knowledge extraction and problem solving abilities. These will be applied principally to data compression and some key problem areas of life sciences, but developed as generically as possible. You will also collaborate directly with Qbit's main research group, as and when necessary, in development of their lossless data compression technologies.
Requirements: Strong, proven track record in field of agent-based systems including multi-agent systems, autonomous agents, intelligent agents, artificial life and artificial societies, distributed problem solving and swarm intelligence, particle swarm optimization, coevolution, ant colony optimization, or artificial immune systems. Strong knowledge and appreciation for other technologies and approaches within fields of artificial intelligence, evolutionary computation, nature inspired computing and complex systems. Strong coding skills (4+ years experience) in two or more of C, Java, C++, Python, or Matlab/R/S+. Strong written and communication skills. Ability to think very abstractly.
Desired Skills: Code writing in team environment and experience of software version control systems (CVS, SVN, ClearCase etc.). Previous experience in multi-/inter-disciplinary research setting. Application of agent-based simulation to biological problems.
Years of Experience: 5-15 Years
Degree Required: PhD
