Agent-based models in economics have been more widely accepted than those in other domains. Behavioural finance for instance is based on it, and some Swedish Bank Prize (wrongly called the Nobel) winners in economics have used them.

Agent-Based Computational Economics (ACE) is the computational study of economies modeled as evolving systems of autonomous interacting agents with learning capabilities. For extensive resources on ACE, visit the ACE website at http://www.econ.iastate.edu/tesfatsi/ace.htm
